Director, Finance and Business Performance

Tandigm Health is a growing population health organization with the mission of improving healthcare delivery across Southeastern PA.   We engage, enable, and empower our physician network with the tools and resources needed to improve care quality and patient health outcomes, while also lowering the cost of coordinated care.

The Director, Finance and Business Performance position is a key role at Tandigm combining financial reporting, business operations, and insightful healthcare analytics.  The role is highly visible, and the Director must have the capabilities to succeed in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment as well as a corporate “shared service” organization.   Position will be remote until further notice, but to be based out of our West Conshohocken, PA office.

The Job Holder will be an experienced and curious team player looking to capitalize on traditional financial reporting experience and develop and manage the reporting of operational, clinical, and financial metrics while also identifying key insights through detailed analysis.  The successful applicant will have strong leadership skills, be comfortable with uncertainty, and have public accounting or private industry experience.

Essential Functions

Business Performance

  • Assist in defining, establishing, and managing KPI’s to ensure consistent, high quality deliverables to the organization including in-depth understanding of metric drivers;
  • Provide management and oversight of the Company’s objectives and key results performance management process to drive maximum productivity, improve data quality of reporting and ensure key deliverables are consistently met
  • Provide complex ad hoc reports and thorough analysis requested by business partners
  • Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with senior executives and non-executives, clinical leadership, and business partners
  • Assist the VP and CFO in preparing the budget, planning, and forecast processes

Financial and Accounting Operations

  • Issue timely and complete audited consolidated financial statements
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions, contract negotiations, acquisitions, and other corporate activities
  • Research, understand and document technical accounting and identify and implement changes from Accounting Standard Updates ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Oversee multiple financial operations, including but not limited to payroll processing, purchase to pay, order to cash, monthly financial accounting close, and ERP administration
  • Maintain a system of controls and thorough documentation over financial and accounting operations

Compliance, Taxation and Treasury Management

  • Monitor capital adequacy levels and compliance with covenants
  • Oversee the completion and compliance of Federal and State tax reporting requirements including income, property, sales and use, payroll and other local taxes
  • Ensure compliance with other government requirements and regulations
  • Liaise with outsourced Tax, Treasury and Risk departments ensuring strong governance

Team Development/Leadership

  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality
  • Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results

Other

  • On behalf of, and in close coordination with Senior Director, VP, or CFO, lead key initiatives as required

Education

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master’s Degree in Business
  • Bachelor’s Degree in in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, other related fields, or equivalent work experience

Experience

  • 10 years of either Public Accounting or Private Industry accounting experience, including 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience in analyzing business performance and developing financial plans
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred, but not required

  • US GAAP 
  • Accounting processes and systems
  • Internal controls and financial reporting
  • Working Knowledge of Business Intelligence solutions and Microsoft Office applications
  • A self-starter able to deliver independently or through others
