Sr. Director, Business Development

Senior Director, Business Development is responsible for the planning and execution of strategies and tactics related to inorganic or external growth initiatives/ partnerships and other initiatives that meet organizational growth objectives, including:

  1. Revenue-generating opportunities
  2. Improving quality/quality measures
  3. Lowering expenditures and medical costs
  4. Business diversification via investment, partnerships, de novo, or other transactions. Activities relating to Business Development include identifying, sourcing, evaluating, developing, negotiating, and in collaboration with leadership and the spectrum of team-members, closing a range of strategic business relationships.

Essential Functions

  • Provider partnerships, including the evaluation, negotiation, structuring, and implementation of initiatives with Primary care physicians/entities, Specialty physicians (e.g., GI, Eye care providers/facilities), Ancillary care partnerships (e.g., home health and infusion), Urgent care and Surgery centers
  • Payer partnership development, including initiation and assistance with key healthcare stakeholders for strategic discussions/ relationships
  • Health system partnership development: Strategic development, evaluation, structuring, and implementation
  • Tandigm growth initiatives to expand organizational offerings, including evaluation, negotiation, structuring, and implementation (e.g., MSO development and/or acquisition and expansion)
  • Tandigm investment opportunities, including leading and coordinating strategic and market evaluation, valuations, negotiations, legal documentation, and overall diligence in collaboration with teams within/ outside of Tandigm
  • Market expansion outside of the Philadelphia region; Evaluation of the phasing in our out of markets or offerings, as well as business plan development related to commercialization, including the creation of new business units and/or services
  • Understand Tandigm’s business lines and growth/expansion plans, as well as the overall industry, competitive and disintermediation trends in order to prioritize initiatives that will leverage Tandigm’s capabilities and resources and serve as an accelerant
  • Develop strategic relationship with partners (furthering existing partnerships and new potential ones)
  • Partner inside of Tandigm and more broadly with Independence Health Group and key functional areas and leadership
  • Work independently and lead small teams in strategic projects, including market assessments and sizing new opportunities, specific business evaluations, partnership structures and terms, and deal execution
  • Continually evaluate new market trends and competitive opportunities/ threats; support Tandigm’s overall strategy and business development planning
  • Assess fit, feasibility, and financial impact of new strategic investments
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities around new businesses and extension of existing businesses

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college and/or a professional certification requiring formal education beyond a two-year college in Business Administration, Healthcare or related field
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare or related field preferred

Experience

  • 7-8 years’ experience in healthcare industry
  • Population Health Management experience preferred
