Vice President, Population Health Services

The Tandigm Health VP, Population Health Services is accountable for Tandigm service and quality excellence and for Primary Care Physician’s financial and quality performance. The VP, Population Health Services will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer. He/She will have primary responsibility for all clinical interactions with Tandigm Primary Care Physicians (PCPs), facilities and specialists as well as have responsibility for PCP performance in the Tandigm Primary Care Physician (PCP) Incentive Plan. The VP, Population Health Services will also participate in planning and refining clinical initiatives and in developing clinical strategy.

  • Meets with Primary Care Physicians, facilities and specialists used by Tandigm and reviews clinical issues, quality issues, and utilization
  • Tracks, manages, and remediates the performance and compliance of primary care physicians, facilities and specialists in the Care Delivery Support Model; Develops and assists in the implementation of best practices and specialty referral processes
  • Assists in the establishment of criteria for preferred facilities and specialists and makes recommendations as to initial and ongoing preferred status of facilities and specialists
  • Develops and implements strategies to expand relationships with the Primary Care Physician, facility and specialist on behalf of Tandigm
  • Ensures that all facilities and specialists used by Tandigm primary care physicians adhere to Tandigm’s processes
  • Oversees the Accurate Coding & Education programs ensuring proper documentation and quality of patient care and has responsibility for ensuring that all compliance issues are properly addressed
  • Oversees the Membership & Sales programs to ensure continued membership growth opportunities within the Tandigm network
  • Provides strategic and tactical leadership counsel and direction to support business objectives; teaches evidence-based care for all clinicians
  • Enhances clinician satisfaction, productivity and performance
  • Monitors closely and analyzes inpatient and outpatient reports and identifies trends
  • Works collaboratively with other team members to complete annual budgets accurately including the development and implementation of plans to achieve budgetary goals
  • Works collaboratively with other team members to monitor resource utilization and enact plans to improve efficiencies and reduce expenses
  • Works collaboratively with team members to monitor patient satisfaction and implement plans and programs to continually enhance services provided
  • Serves as a positive role model and always models good behavior. Mentors other physicians in leadership skills
  • Possesses knowledge of local market, Primary Care Physicians, facilities, and specialty physicians. Builds network of trust and mutual benefit
  • Uses, protects, and discloses Tandigm patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer

Education

  • Must be a licensed Physician in the State of Pennsylvania. License shall be active and free of any limitations or medical board actions
  • MBA/MPH preferred but not required

Experience

  • Current board certification in field of practice
  • Clinical Practice for minimum of 5 years preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in healthcare, insurance, IPA, expertise in utilization (inpatient and outpatient), and/or quality management with experience in building network and provider relationships preferred
  • Leadership change experience
  • Understanding of HMO/Medicare payment methodologies, ICD-10 coding and the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS)
