Dr. Geoffrey Burgess, of Gateway Colonial Family Practice in Coatesville, PA, is the proud recipient of the Davita HealthCare Partners Core Value Award for Continuous Improvement. Dr. Burgess was one of 13 nominees nationally and was awarded the honor on November 21, during the Night of Honor Celebration at Davita HealthCare Partners World Headquarters in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Burgess has been a practicing family physician for 38 years and is a participating doctor with Tandigm Health. He has always been a role model for younger doctors about both the art and the science of medicine. Dr. Burgess has kept current on both medicine and care delivery and has led and continues to lead the change from fee for service to value based care. “[Geoff] has played a leadership role for almost four decades in organizing doctors and encouraging them to improve their quality and efficiency of care.” said Dr. Kenneth Goldblum, Chief Medical Officer at Tandigm Health, in presenting Dr. Burgess with the award. “His energy and commitment give new meaning to the ‘continuous’ part of ‘continuous improvement’.”
